What the last intake looked for

These were the 2026 criteria. Treat them as a guide rather than a rule: 2027 criteria are still to be confirmed.

France connection

The 2026 criteria accepted either:

  • a climate-tech startup headquartered and registered in France, or
  • a climate-tech company in the Indo-Pacific region with a French passport-holding founder and at least 60% French ownership

Technology focus

The 2026 programme covered energy, critical minerals, decarbonisation of transport, industrial decarbonisation, AgTech, land use and climate resilience, the built environment, and climate services and software.

Maturity

Seed to Series B, excluding pre-seed, with technology at TRL 5 to 8.

Australian market intent

Companies were required to be planning Australian market entry within 12 to 24 months and able to commit to five months of structured engagement.

Cost

What you should expect

This is an active market-entry programme.

The 2026 model includes virtual preparation, market mapping, mentor support, Entrepreneurs in Residence, specialist advice, company and research introductions, a substantial in-country period, prospective customer and partner meetings, industry events, investor engagement and pitch preparation.

A founder or salaried team member acts as the primary programme representative and needs enough authority to progress commercial discussions.

Participants are responsible for travel, accommodation and day-to-day living costs in Australia.

Do I need to move permanently?

No permanent relocation requirement is stated in the current programme model. The programme does, however, require a substantial period in Australia and is intended for companies seriously considering Australian market entry.
